For the last two months Room 9 has been in the process of shooting and editing it's film for the Ako Hiko film Festival. Please view and let us know what you think. Room 9 has done really well to film a quality film and have done a lot of learning around how films are made. It was a great collaborative project and was a lot of fun. Highly recommended for any Ako Hiko schools to participate in the future!

Kia ora, My name is Emeliano and I am from May road school your film is awesome and cool.My favourite part was when it showed the fortnite cheat codes it was really funny. I couldn't really see the part at the end so maybe next time you can add more light because it was really dark.
Hey thanks Emeliano, that ending was a bit dark but we were going for a film noir style which is often black and white or low lit, this gives the impression of being dirty or dangerous which is what we were aiming for. I am really glad you enjoyed the movie though, thanks for the support!

Hi, My name is Ferah and i'm from Christ the King. Wow! What a well thought out video. I like how you added your ideas of what the future would look like. I especially found it funny when you showed the fortnite cheat codes. How did you guys come up with the theme? It was very creative.
Morning Ferah, in order to make this movie the whole class had to brainstorm their own ideas around what the future might look like. They were then filtered into four groups based on their ideas or themes for their future. From this they were then able to as a group story board the best ideas from each individual. During the filming process some scenes were tweaked to make time as we had only about 3 minutes to fit the whole film in. The fortnite cheat codes was an idea we had while trying to adapt the scene as we needed to cut down a lot of time and having some sort of Mafia deal was the easiest way we could see this fitting into the 3 minutes we had. hello my name is Zariah from christ the king school I really like you'r film its really cool I like how the earth got destroyed, and how the rock wasn't real. I also enjoyed the special effects you did and how auckland was destroyed is well. But i think you should improve some of the allen custom even tho it was good its just the head looked like it was about to fall of. but i enjoyed it very muched. I'm just wondering how many actress you needing and how many objects you needed?

My funniest moment in the beginning was how Mr Walker was the lion, but I also like how I believe that the rock was real until I went back to watch it another time.I enjoy what you guys have in mind about the future and the great affects in the video. For improvement the allen costum and the girls that were talking on the moon to talk louder because their were same words that they had said silently. I'm also wondering how much time did it take to create your video?, and did you audition other kids to be in the video?. But overall I would like to say your film was funny and it was great keep up the good work.

With limited time we were unable to fix up some of those small areas before the release date, but you are right, next time we will probably look at using some microphones to get better sound. We spent about 2 months creating this film from beginning to end. No auditions were required as we used whoever wanted to act within room 9. Most students were involved in the actual filming process and we had a team who helped with the post production special effects. Really appreciate your comment and feedback!

Morning Ferah, in order to make this movie the whole class had to brainstorm their own ideas around what the future might look like. They were then filtered into four groups based on their ideas or themes for their future. From this they were then able to as a group story board the best ideas from each individual. During the filming process some scenes were tweaked to make time as we had only about 3 minutes to fit the whole film in. The fortnite cheat codes was an idea we had while trying to adapt the scene as we needed to cut down a lot of time and having some sort of Mafia deal was the easiest way we could see this fitting into the 3 minutes we had.
