Maori Language Week!

 Room 9 has been having a great Maori language week and to celebrate we thought it would be good to take some baby steps in learning the language of our nation. So with our baby steps we decided to make a video of baby shark but in Te Reo to get all our younger brothers and sisters hooked on the language! Vector Graphic art

 Room 9 has been enjoying creating some cool vector art images, using google drawing as their tool. This was great fun and a good chance for us to get used to using some photoshop skills. Graphic design is super fun and is something that any student can enjoy. Maybe you could share some of your cool art in the comments below!

Making our Pepeha Games

For a fun Friday activity room 9 has taken the tradition of creating a pepeha to the next level by turning it into a coding activity. This is a great tool from Gamefroot.com and worth looking into. You don't just have to create a Mihi you can create other games too!!!!

Entertainment Inquiry

For term 3's inquiry room 9 has been looking at different forms of entertainment throughout the ages. Here is the brief they are following. With presentations happening in Week 9 and 10 this term. Some of the key areas of entertainment they have been looking at have been, sports, literature, music and dance.

First day back, What are our goals?

Welcome back to term 2! Room 9 has started off with a bit of testing in order to find our next steps for maths. The test will help us identify our gaps and what we need to learn for term 2. 

When room 9 tests we do not see it as a bad thing! We use it as a point of reference to develop our knowledge further. Although it must be said that it's not always the funnest thing to do on your first day back! Well done room 9 for giving it a solid go!
